Planning a Lesson, Directly

After spending dozens (hundreds??) of hours in a classroom and browsing online teacher resources, it's relatively easy to spot a poorly designed lesson plan - whether it's direct instruction or what-have-you. There are SO many vague, and generally unhelpful, resources just a mouse-click away. While it's very easy to spot a poorly designed or ill planned lesson, it's much harder to find quality lesson plans. They're definitely out there, but it seems like for every 10 bad or incomplete lesson plans, there's only 1 or 2 good ones out there. My personal opinion is it requires much more digging to find the ones that really shine. But do you want to know what's really difficult? Actually developing your own lesson from start to finish, as well as writing a comprehensive plan to go with it! WOW!! That must be why it's harder to find the good ones!!
